My Renamed, Redesigned and Reimagined Blog

I wrote the first post on my blog more than 15 years ago…on February 17, 2004.

And…it’s still here. Yup, that very same blog.

I started my blog – yup, this blog, in a somewhat different incarnation – about marketing thanks to David Hazeltine, who was my boss at the time. He placed his trust and confidence in me, and for that I will be grateful forever.

I was writing my blog long before most businesses and brands had one.

I was speaking about blogs and social media to audiences who knew very little about these newfangled means of communicating online.

I think everyone in business today should have a blog, certainly anyone in a leadership position.

A blog is an extension of who you are as a professional. It’s a voice, a personality, a resource and a tool.

I think every organization today should have a blog, too. A blog is the people behind the corporate logo…a dialogue between you and your customers, prospects, followers and friends…a candid look behind the scenes.

A blog is a repository for knowledge, information, news, opinion, entertainment and enlightenment.

A blog is a great way to generate leads and attract visitors to your website.

A blog is an excellent source of content that can be repurposed elsewhere.

My blog is a series of posts on what I think is important to marketers today.

While my blog posts used to consist of mostly text, almost all of them now include an accompanying video.

Not only was my blog recently renamed, my blog was recently redesigned, too, by Thoughtlight’s Christina Inge, and I think it looks awesome, ridiculously awesome.

Thanks, Christina!

And…thanks to everyone who takes the time to read, watch and listen to what I have to say.
